Corn dog bites in a pressure cooker are easy to make with an egg mold. With Jiffy or homemade batter, this is the perfect snack or lunch your kids will love.

Have you tried this fun meal yet?! They’re so fun! Like little corn dog muffins but made in your Instant Pot or Ninja Foodi in about 15 minutes total. Find others like this on our page full of easy Instant Pot recipes too. (affiliate links present)
What are corn dog bites?
It is just that, a bite of the same ingredients in air fryer frozen corn dogs but without the stick! Instead you can use a muffin tin in the oven like we did with our recipe for corn dog bites here, or a silicone tray with holes as we will show you to cook them to fluffy and wonderful.
These are a hit no matter when they are made but during the summertime I am all about them. Why? When it is super hot outside I am not about to turn on my oven so made in my IP or as a Ninja Foodi recipe is the way to go for all the things.
You can start with a basic corn muffin recipe using baking powder and a few other ingredients like I did, or boxed. If you have another favorite cornbread recipe by all means use that instead. Jiffy cornbread is a great one too because it has all the things already mixed in so you just add egg and milk.
Ingredient Notes
You will want a few Hot dogs cut into smaller pieces.
For the batter you need to base the dry ingredients with Corn meal – this is the one I used, the easy corn bread recipe is on the side. You combine it with some Milk, a bit of Sugar for sweetness, Oil, a room temperature Egg, some all purpose Flour and a pinch of Salt.
You just need a bit of Baking Powder to allow them to rise, and they will so only fill halfway or so.
Equipment
Once you have your homemade corn dog batter mixed together you will want this handy silicone mold you see above, used for baking in your pressure cooker. A trivet goes below that so it doesn’t sit inside the hot steaming water and you’ll want aluminum foil to cover the top so it doesn’t get wet and gooey.
Variations and Substitutions
As far as the equipment goes you will need a mixing bowl. Alternatively, you could use individual silicone muffin cups instead of this tray set on a trivet. That will hold a bit more so you’d need to increase the timing to 11 minutes. With that said you won’t be able to make very many as they cannot overlap. For the batter you could use a box of Jiffy corn muffin mix and only need milk and egg. After this you can try our Instant Pot hot dogs that cook super quickly.
Pressure Cooker Corn Dog Bites Recipe
Equipment
- 1 egg mold
- 1 Bowl
Ingredients
- 4 hot dogs, cut into 4ths
Instructions
- Mix dry ingredients for cornbread together, then add milk, oil and egg and combine well. (if using a boxed cornbread mix use directions on back to make the batter instead)
- Spray the inside of your egg mold with non stick spray (well). Fill each pocket 1/2 way full of cornbread mix.
- Cut each hot dog into 4 equal pieces and push 1 piece in the center of each hole filled with batter.
- Cover egg mold with foil (I usually spray the under side with non stick spray too).
- Pour 1.5 c water into your pressure cooker. Put egg mold on a trivet with handles and lower into your pot.
- Close the lid and steam valve and set to pressure high for 9 minutes. Then allow to naturally release steam for 5 minutes. Let out rest of steam after that.
- Remove foil immediately and allow them to cool in mold for 3-4 minutes so they stay in tact when you pop them out.
- Then flip over and gently push on the bottom pockets so each corn dog bite pops out.

Cooking Tips
When you are “baking” this way you need a natural pressure release at the end to keep your mini muffins fluffy. Otherwise it will suck the moisture out and the texture will become more dense. When done set on a cooling rack for a few minutes so you don’t burn yourself when popping them out.
How to Serve
If you have never eaten these before they are not only delicious dunked in ketchup and hot dog mustard but super cute too. With kids things just taste better when they are teeny tiny right?? I made these so many times and had my kids watching that when they became teens they would make them themselves.
I will make these served with a bowl of Kraft Mac and Cheese in the Instant Pot for my kids very favorite meal on the weekends!
How to use an Egg Bites Mold
I would highly suggest you watch the video embedded in this post so you can see how I use it. A printable recipe card is at the bottom of this post, here is a quick step by step:
You can make small cakes, pressure cooker egg bites using leftover ham or bacon in the morning. We’ve even made pancake bites in a pressure cooker which the kids go crazy over. We have made delicious Instant Pot donuts covered in sprinkles too.
I have an IP Duo Crisp w/ the air fryer lid. I am thinking about making these this way first & then air frying them so they get crispy on the outside. Do you think that I should decrease the time for pressure cooking? I am wondering at what point the batter becomes cooked enough that the bites can successfully be removed from the mould & then air fried. Or if that’s not possible do you think air frying them after the full pressure cooker time will make them overdone? Thanks!
I always airfry my egg bites because we like the golden outside. Same with these. I Cook as instructed then airfry if I am giving as a gift nicer presentation.
But other wise I fridge then airfry before eating.
Made these today and there were pretty good. I do recommend using two egg bite molds though as the batter make enough that I filled two of them and had some batter left over. I sent a link of the recipe to my daughter and she and her boyfriend are going to try them. She doesn’t eat meat so she’s going to try then with vegan hot dogs but her boyfriend will probably use regular hot dogs. They’d be good without the hot dog too, as small muffins for a quick breakfast or snack.
These would be a nice game day snack or nice to take to card club.
